Game Time: 7:30 PM ET
Location: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York
Spread: Charlotte -1.5
This will be the third and last regular season meeting between the two conference rivals this year. The Hornets took the first tilt 111-96 back on February 22 and covered the 8.5-point spread as home favorites. The Hornets outshot the Nets 48.3 percent to 38.7 percent for the Nets with Kemba Walker shooting 55 percent from the field while collecting 31 points in the win. The Nets rebounded with a 125-111 victory two weeks later and easily covered the numbers as seven-point road underdogs. At the time, the Nets had surpassed last year’s win total and still had 16 games left in their calendar.
The Hornets have dominated the rivalry in recent time winning eight of the last ten confrontations against the Nets but have failed to cover the numbers in eight of those tilts. They have struggled of late losing eight of their last ten games including their last two contests to New York and Philadelphia in which they were outscored by 18.5 points per game. They have also struggled on the road lately losing six of their last seven games. The Nets, who have failed to cover the line in six of their last eight home games, enter this affair as a 1.5-point underdog, according to BetDSI Sportsbook, with the total sitting at 222.5 points.
Vegas Betting Tip
While the Nets doesn’t offer much of a challenge, the Hornets have won just two games in their last 10 contests with the two wins coming against the worst two teams in the league in Phoenix and Atlanta. The Nets have nothing to play for except for pride so look for them to prevail at home.
