Cleveland Looks to Continue Dominant Form against Detroit

The Cleveland Indians will attempt to maintain their winning disposition and will look to capture their fourth consecutive victory as they resume hostilities with the Detroit Tigers. The two AL Central Division rivals are scheduled to compete in the second instalment of a three-game series with the contest set to be broadcasted on the MLB network Saturday afternoon at 4:10 p.m. ET and live from Comerica Park in Detroit, MI.

Game Time: 4:10 PM ET

Location: Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan

Moneyline: Cleveland -164

Total: 9 Over -125

The two division belligerents are taking part in their third series thus far this season. The Indians swept a four-game home series back in early April but lost two of three in the Motor City three weeks ago. However, the Indians have utterly dominated the rivalry against the Tigers as they have won an amazing 17 games in their last 20 confrontations, which includes a 4-1 victory in the opener of the series back on Friday.

The Indians, who are in the midst of a seven-game road trip, enter this contest as a -164 road favorite, according to Bovada Sportsbook, with the total sitting on 9 runs. RH Mike Clevinger (4-2, 3.36 ERA) will attempt to recover from a poor start as he takes the mound for the Indians while RH Mike Fiers (5-3, 4.33 ERA) will look to notch back-to-back victories as he gets the call in the second game of the series for the Tigers.

Clevinger, who has recorded seven quality starts in his twelve outings this season including a complete game shutout, was ordinary at best in his latest outing. The 27-year old allowed four runs across seven hits, which two leaving the yard, with three free passes and three strikeouts in six innings in a no-decision against the Twins on Sunday. The Floridian is 4-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 5-career starts against the Tigers.

Fiers, who has recorded only three quality starts in his eleven outings this season, failed to do so in his last trip to the mound on Monday. The 32-year old allowed two runs across six hits with two walks and six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings in a 4-2 win against the Yankees. The Florida native, who won his lone start of the season against the Indians back on May 14, is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA in 5-career starts against Cleveland.
