Vegas Odds and MLB Picks: St. Louis Cardinals at Miami Marlins

The St. Louis Cardinals will attempt to maintain their winning form and will look to entertain the idea of taking the rubber match when they resume hostilities with the Miami Marlins. The two NL rivals are scheduled to compete in the finale of a three-game series set to be broadcasted on the FOX Sports network at 7:10 p.m. ET and live from Marlins Park in Miami.

Location: Marlins Park, Miami, Florida
Moneyline: St. Louis -117
Total: 8 Under -115

The Cardinals, who are still in the mix for a playoff spot, enter this contest as a -117 road favorite, according to Bovada Sportsbook, with the total set on 8 runs. RH John Gant (3-4, 4.12 ERA) will attempt to get back into the winner’s circle as he takes the hill for the Cardinals while RH Trevor Richards (3-6, 3.02 ERA) will look to recover from latest loss as he gets the call in the finale for the Marlins.

Gant, who has failed to collect a quality start in his last four outings, was tagged for a season-high six runs across another high eight hits with a walk and five strikeouts in four innings in a no-decision against the Pirates back on Friday. The 26-year old from Georgia lost his lone career start to the Marlins back on June of 2016.

Richards has been rock solid in his last four starts by collecting three quality outings during that stretch. The 25-year old allowed only two combined runs across fourteen hits with 25 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings which is good for an impressive 0.76 ERA. The Illinois native lost his lone career start against St. Louis back on June 7.

Prediction: Miami 6 – St. Louis 3
